NDP MP Glenn Thibeault wants action to protect credit card holders

NDP Consumer Affairs critic Glenn Thibeault (Sudbury) has written to the Finance Minister urging him to compel credit card companies to honour their commitment to protect Canadian credit card holders when their cards are compromised.

“Many credit card companies have a zero liability policy for unauthorized transactions but as this is not legally binding many consumers are being stuck with bills from fraudulent activity,” said Thibeault. “We’re calling on the Finance Minister to take steps to protect Canadian consumers.”
